In 2012, LLL Productions developed a project entitled 'Messages from a Sussex Village' for East Sussex Arts Partnership's 'Word County' programme, for which a sequence of posters, typeset and handprinted by Peter Chasseaud of Tom Paine Printing Press, was displayed at Plumpton Station. The intention was that these 'messages' would communicate something of the character and particularity of the village to the outside world, and in particular, to passengers on the London Victoria to Eastbourne/Hastings line. After the completion of the project, Station Master Michael Newman asked if one of the posters could go back on display as it had proved popular with local people. The wording for this poster had been inspired by a conversation with Mark Cornford, Clerk of the Course at Plumpton Racecourse, his sentiments thereafter reimagined as a sort of alternative public service announcement. The poster remained permanently in place at Plumpton Station from 2013 through to the summer of 2017, also becoming the subject of a community phone-in on BBC Radio Sussex.
